To all those critics out there, who scream that football is all about goals, and lots of them, thank heavens for a game for the purists.
Football is a game of chess, played between 2 exponents who exercise skill, patience and finesse, which is exactly what last night's World Cup semi-final game showed to the world.
It had one goal only, but did that detract from everything else, absolutely not!!
So to all those pundits out there who demand that "The Beautiful Game" must have goals in order for it to have meaning, excitement and pure enjoyment, will they kindly depart in peace!
It was a fascinating contest, may only have one goal but chances for more, Sunday will be intriguing, but also looking forward to 3rd place playoff....wonder what Paul has picked for that one
I enjoyed last night's game dyslex, it certainly was a game of tactics which the Spanish won hands down as the Germans for once could not counter them.....
So Herr Low did not bother to research their opposition.... The germans at times looked bewildered and the spaniards pretty much neutralised Schweinstieger who'd been so effective against other teams...
dyslexiauntied,
I agree. I said as much to my missus after about 25 minutes - not that she knows the first thing about football - but when she mumbled "Yes, dear", I felt vindicated in my opinion all the same!
No, it was a fascinating game, personally I was hoping for a German win, but have to admit that the Spaniards deserved it over the piece. The final should be a cracker.
