I have just purchased hospitality tickets for Essex v England at Chelmsford in July. What happens is the match is rained off or there is no play. Do you lose you money or do you go and have the food and drink then go home again

It usually gives details of refund arrangements on the ticket or on the booking form if done on the internet. I think there's a sliding scale for refunds or at least a cut-off point for refunds

From the Ground Regulations:
"Refund of admission charges will not be made, unless otherwise advised at the time of ticket purchase. In certain circumstances and at the
discretion of the management of the club rain check tickets may be issued in the event of there being very little play on any one day. Some
matches, under the jurisdiction of the England and Wales Cricket Board may be covered by ‘Raincheck Schemes’, details of which will be
printed on the admission ticket."

"Hospitality Tickets" often have different terms/conditions to standard ground admission tickets - presumably because the club has incurred significant costs in providing the extra catering etc (regardless of whether there is any play or not).

I think the usual pledge is that if there's no play because of rain, lap-dancers will be provided in the marquee.

Would female cricket fans (and there are lots of us around) really want to watch lap dancers?!!
