Never throw that much at Wobblybum until the latter stages, but i do like to test my 'radar' in the earlier rounds, particularly with the men's tournament because, with the 5 sets, there are more choices and therefore better prices.

R Gasquet to win 3-2 @ 5/1
S Johnson to win 3-2 @ 5/1
G Dimitrov to win 3-1 @ 11/4

Win singles, £1 patent, £1 treble @ 134/1. All 3 oblige and it's a possible £387 payout + the wingles.

Well, all 3 that i backed to win, actually lost :-) In my defence, i did choose matches i thought would be tight - with the possible exception of Dimitrov who i thought would go 2 up, have a rest, then clinch it in the 4th.
And i'm going exactly the same way, today - yes, i know it's Tuesday and i've headed it 'Monday Wimbledon Punt', but as i'll most likely be having a bet each day, imagine the word 'Monday' isn't there:-)

Having done a little studying, i think there is a good case to be made for the following bet to produce some sort of return, bearing in mind that one correct score will pay for the entire bet.

Damir Dzumhur 3-2 @ 5/1
Kyle Edmund 3-1 @ 11/4
Robin Haas 3-2 @ 5/1

As the prices are same as yesterday, so are the returns.
come on Andy ! ;0) good luck with those today Ken !
Ken, though I haven't placed a bet for a very long time, I read your (and Togo's ) posts with interest and amusement. I'm familiar with - even if I don't fully understand - things like yankees and accumulators, but today you've got me stumped. What's a 'patent', please?
I'm going to have a punt on the tennis this year see if it helps me enjoy it because I'm going to watch it however much I hate it to see if I can get into it and some betting jeopardy might help cos himself is a massive tennis fan and is very excited about it all and I can't talk to him about it :( Might also have to learn to play ( double :( ) lol
Question Author
GG; "What's a Patent?" A Patent is 3 win singles, 3 doubles and a treble. That's 7 bets @ unit stake so, for instance, a £1 Patent is £7.
Minty; You'll have to support young Kyle today in the absence of your beloved :-)
Kval; Don't gamble more than you can easily afford to lose. That way it stays fun. And good luck.
Thanks Ken, I won't, I do bet on the horses quite usually a 5p e/w Yankee or something nice and cheap, but I do need to learn to love tennis, so this might be a good way. Thanks you I'll dog your every footstep on this since I know nothing about it x
Thanks, Ken, not in my dictionaries! So all 7 bets in the patent accumulate?
Question Author
GG; the win singles in the patent would realise £15.75, the 3 doubles £81 and the treble £135 which, when added together = £231.75. Another £135 for the extra treble (not included in the patent) and that's £366.75. Don't know where i got the £387 from yesterday?? And i've just noticed that, thanks to a typo, i've invented a new word - 'wingles' :-) So, if i use the word again, everyone will know i mean win singles. :-) :-)
Question Author
Well, no returns but i am getting nearer in that all 3 of my players won their matches - just not by the scores i predicted. So, a little tinkering with the cross-hairs on my telescopic sights may do the trick. As may lowering my expectations a little. Going for 3 early games today and will probably be back with another bet later - no footy = extra funds to play with.
None of these couplings have ever met in competition before, so i am relying on recent grass performances and their respective Wimbledon experience;

1130; Milos Raonic 3-1 @ 11/4
1130; Lucas Pouille 3-1 @ 11/4
1300; Daniil Medvedev 3-1 @ 3/1 (Win single)

£1 trixie, £1 treble for a poss return of £156.86
Question Author
Still no coconut:-(

John Isner 3-1 @ 11/4
Stan Wawrinka 3-1 @ 11/4
Kevin Anderson 3-1 @ 11/4

£1 trixie, £1 treble = poss £147.65
Is your 'patent' the same as a Lucky Seven? I used to work in a betting shop, so should know these things but I can't remember.
Question Author
Never heard of a Lucky 7, Cloverjo. A Patent is 3 wins, 3 doubles and a treble and costs 7 times unit stake.
That's the same thing, I think.
Question Author
They say God loves a tryer so i can't understand why he doesn't sprinkle a little magic dust on my bets. According to those closest to me, i'm very trying.

Rafa Nadal 3-1 @ 11/4
Frances Tiafoe 3-1 @ 4/1 (Win single)
Damir Dzumhur 3-1 @ 3/1 (Win single)

£1 treble, £1 trixie = possible return of £203.75
You say don’t gamble anymore than you can afford to lose, sadly this was not the case of an aquantince of mine,he started betting small amounts had a winning streak, later he was betting his wages and losing,he finished up in saughton prison Edinburgh after being caught bag snatching from women,I am against gambling in any form and have lectured my children on this to no avail.
Question Author
I've always believed, jordyboy, that if you approach gambling in a sensible way, as i most certainly do, it can be fun, the odd decent win paying for quite a few of the losing bets. Once you are in a position where you NEED to win, it stops being fun and becomes a major problem. Unfortunately there are those who cannot rein in their addictive nature, be it gambling, drinking, smoking, video games, etc. I have every sympathy for those people who, perhaps, serve as a warning to those who may be considering getting involved.
That answer you gave me makes a lot of sense ken4155,and i agree it is the person themselves in regards to not getting addicted, cheers and good luck with your betting.
Question Author
Thanks, jordy. Need all the luck i can get at this early stage of the competition - hence minimum stakes :-)
Question Author
Just the one correct (Tiafoe) but the win single pays for the bet and produces a small profit.
Question Author
Today's offering is;

Kevin Anderson 3-1 @ 3/1 (Win single)
Sam Querrey 3-1 @ 3/1 (Win single)
John Isner 3-1 @ 11/4
