I have just about a day's work to finish a current decorating job and, given the first day menu served up by this year's festival, i will most likely see it through. It means having to miss watching my first runner but the other 3 don't go until late afternoon and i should be home in plenty of time to see all 3. Then, in the hope that the menu improves throughout the coming days, i'll be taking the rest of the week off.

1.50 Good; Soto Sizzler @ 8/1
4.45 Good; Maygold @ 13/2
4.55 Bev; Muatedel @ 9/1
5.15 Good; Clara Peeters @ 8/1

Win singles, 20p Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £73, 4 winners = £7,613.

Good luck any and all :-)

Ahh well. Better do a little bit on the last 4 at Goodwood. Lord Glitters @11/2, Electric Ladyland @10/1, Naqaawa @15/2, & Aljady @10/1. Weather is still rank here. Not going out and can watch the races instead.
Question Author
Just started my late afternoon bet off with a winner - Mr Cocoa Bean - so keep your eyes peeled for Champagne Chaser, Perfect Swiss and War Ensign. None at Goodwood.
After a shocker yesterday the report card says "must do better". Some nice racing again and the weather looks good down there. Not very warm here and I have a few errands to sort out meaning I need to get out handy. Got to sort out half a dozen bricks before Monday. Having a new boiler fitted and the old flue opening has to be bricked up. Problem is the face bricks used when the place was built are no longer available....so I need to find something that is a good match...….nightmare. Should be back before the off.

Korcho @12/1 1.50
Symbolize @6/1 2.25
Jalmoud @6/1 3.00
Maqsad @13/2 3.35

£1.00 e/w Acca. 25p e/w Doubles & Trebles

ITV7 those 4 with Stratford runners Grageelah Girl 2.05, Capitoul 2.40, Quinto 3.15. Also done a little e/w acca on the 7 timer. Later I may be looking at Governor of Punjab 4.10G, Crayland 4.45G, and my get out of jail punt Amplify in the last.(fancy that)

Mornin' Togo and good luck. The least exciting day of the whole festival, imho, with just the one decent handicap race on the card. Still, winners will be just as difficult to come by and, probably, MJ will win the 4.10 but i will have chosen the wrong one of his trio:-(

1.50 G; Fox Premier @ 6/1
3.00 G; Spanish Mission @ 5/1
4.10 G; Governor Of Punjab @ 9/2
5.20 G; Lufrica @ 5/1

Win singles, 20p Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £19, 4 winners = £1,725.

Also a £1 Trixie, £1 Treble on; Threat, Hermosa and Craylands which could realise just under a ton.

ITV 7 consists of the above mentioned particpants and the 3 you have also gone for at Straftford. A £1 e.w. acca pays just £22 for all 7 placed and £5,506 for all 7 to win.

Best of luck in finding matching bricks:-)

Forgot to mention that all Goodwood selections are in the placepot and i've done a couple of rev f/c; Fox Premier/Sinjari and Governor Of Punjab/Fred.
Question Author
A winner, a 2nd and 2 x 3rds. Small profit made but the supposed best bet of the day - Hermosa - lets the placepot down. Hope it's a small one.
Hopeless today Ken. I've lost my mojo. A few runners tomorrow that have done me favours in the past so I live in hope of snatching it back. Nil carborundum and all that.
Early start this morning Ken. Lovely day and I need to be out smartish. Sorted my bricks. The guys at the yard let me bring a couple of patterns home to check the match, so I let "She who must be obeyed" choose. Not down to me then if she is unhappy with them (^_*)
No heroics today with long shots, most of the card looks like the bookie will be running for cover, so I have just done horses that I have picked before. ITV7 done as per.

Turgenev @11/2 2.25
Mojito @7/2 3.00
Praxeology @7/2 4.10
Harrovian @10/3 5.15

£2.00 win Acca. 50p doubles and trebles.

ITV7. The top two of those^ & Jubiloso 1.50G, Amnaa 2.00W, Distant Chimes 2.35W, Fantastic Flyer 3.10W, & Battaash 3.35G. £1.00E/W Acca for the hell of it. See you later.

I thought yesterday's menu was poor, Togo. Today's is even worse given that there are so many supposed 'good things' running. Makes my heckles rise when i see a short priced fav in a large field of runners. Have to keep asking myself, "What have these animals done that puts them so far ahead of the rest in the market?" And the answer appears to be, not all that much. So, in the hope that the supposed 'good things' aren't all that;

2.25; Art Du Val @ 6/1
3.00; Beat Le Bon @ 9/1
4.10; Hard Nut @ 12/1 (One of MJ's!)
5.15; Asian Angel @ 12/1 (Another of MJ's!!)

Win singles, 20p Lucky 15 £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £99, 4 winners = £10,376.

ITV 7; Billesden Brook (£1 e.w. @ 16/1), My Motivate Girl, Art Du Val, Distant Chimes, Beat Le Bon, Fantastic Flyer and Battash. £1 e.w. acca.

Also done a placepot at Goodwood (2-1-17-1-4-4) and a £1 e.w. single on both Rebecca Rocks (3.35 G) @ 14/1 (extra place) and Willyegolassieg (2.35 Wol) @ 40/1.

Best of luck.
Know what you say Ken. No good to we "fun" punters looking for a touch. I did substitute Duke Of Hazard for the non runner Turgenev before I went out and got back just in time to watch it win. Phew.
Question Author
Well, started with the first, my 2nd took a knock and immediately lost interest but my 3rd just got up on the line. Quids in already and i also had a £3.63 win on the first at Wolverhampton - took 4/1 and watched it drift to almost double that before romping in by about 3l at 15/2 :-))
If, as expected, Battash retains it's crown in the next at Goodwood, it will be the nearest i've ever come to winning the ITV7 - 6 winners and an also ran :-((
Question Author
And, as expected, Battash wins the race for the third year running. I just wish i was waiting for it to do so with the winning ticket in the ITV 7. One day, maybe, one day.
Hard luck there Ken. Not been taking a lot of notice really. Just popping in to watch the races as they go off. Glorious sunny afternoon here so making the most of it tidying up etc out back. Thirsty work too. (^_*)
Question Author
Art Du Val was in 3rd or 4th, Togo, a couple of furlongs from home when it took a bit of a knock. Instantly dropped out of it - wuss! Just had a little rev f/c at Wolverhampton Enzo and Misu Pete for a near £40 return. Riding my luck while it's in.
Though it best to stick with your Goodwood thread Ken. Charge of the Light Brigade re-enactment today in a couple of races. Gotta be an e/w punt today so I have taken the extra place and reduced odds where possible. Nice day again and the cricket is going well, plus the football kicks off in earnest. What's not to like.......soon be Christmas. ITV7 is again done with a little e/w acca. I notice that Ventura Knight has been sent back out, after running on Tuesday, in the last race at Goodwood. Will keep my eye on that but would find it hard to ignore Poet's Prince. That is for later though. For now.

Gabriel The Devil @9/1 1.50 Goodwood
Charles Kingsley @4/1 2.25 Goodwood
Rose Of Kildare @10/1 Newmarket
Flavius Titus @10/1 Goodwood

£1.00 e/w Acca 25p e/w Doubles & Trebles.

For the ITV7 add Shambolic 2.05 NewM, South Sea Pearl 3.00Good,& Amber Island 3.15 NewM. Good Luck if you have a go.
Went for a check-up yesterday, the doctor said, 'Open wide and say Oink'.
I felt so embarrassed. Anyway, I'm going to do Open Wide in the big race and go on a diet next week.
Had a tip for True Mason in the 3:40.
Question Author
Morning and good luck, Togo. I noticed the reappearance of Ventura Knight, also Poyle Vinnie in the first - beaten just a head earlier in the week over a furlong less. Will make my mind up in the next hour or so whether or not to do anything with either. If i remember rightly, Dandy Nicholls used to run some of his string on the first day then run them again on the last. Quite often with a positive result, too.
I see Mr Fahey has sent a good few runners all the way down to Goodwood. However, top jock Hanagan stays up north - hopefully to boot home Irreverent in the 4.00 Thirsk :-)
I've done a trixie/treble at Goodwood with Dramatic Queen, Warning Fire and Gift Of Gold which could realise £166. And although i've put Khaadem in the ITV 7 and my PP, i have done a £2.50 e.w. on Raucous in the 3.40 @ 28/1 with Sky - they pay 1/5 odds on 7 places.

1.50 Good; Tommy G @ 10/1
2.25 Good; King's Advice @ 9/2 (Rev f/c with Charles Kingsley)
3.25 Thirsk; Shawaamekh @ 4/1
4.00 Thirsk; Irreverent @ 15/2

Win singles, 20p Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £22, 4 winners = £2,647.

ITV 7; aforementioned plus Spirit Of Appin, Bredenbury and Amber Island. £1 e.w. acca. 7 placed = £67, 7 winners = £60,704.

Once again, good luck.
The runners of both Zac's and Spice are not without chances, ground is good for both and the draw is not unkind and both have won at the distance........this "tip" Zacs, it is not the owner or something outrageous is it? :))
Can’t say Togo (taps side of nose a couple of times and winks).
