I will be a busy patch up there in Edinburgh with the racing and the Rugby. Not much sunshine on Leith, either, to keep the spectators warm. Looking at a punt on the first try/winning margin on the Calcutta Cup game. Get back with my picks before the off. Not going out.
Made my choices. Done the ITV7 and a no heroics punt from them. Plus a pie in the sky long shot E/W double with the 50/1 runner from that list and another. **** E/W Acca, Win Doubles and Trebles.
Cool Mix @7/2 2.05Muss.*
Fiveandtwenty @4/1 2.40Muss.*
Dunboyne @7/1 2.45Leop.(Free £5 Bet 625)
Easyland @50/1 2.55San.(in a double)
Frodon @4/1 3.15Leop.
Farinet @4/1 3.30San*
Mighty Thunder @9/2 3.45Muss.*
The other with Easyland is Taramoc Du Mathan @11/1 E/W Double little E/W singles. May use Frodon in a cover bet later if it goes watsit shaped. Going with Isiekwe, Sam Simmonds, and Tom Curry for first try scorers and winning margins of 11-15 and 16-20 to England. The odds are mental but if the first part comes up it doesn't half make the rest of the game "interesting". Imagine having to cheer a Scottish score if England are "busting the bank". Will post the odds when I have laid the bets.

I hadn't looked at the actual fields before i opened the thread and to say i am disappointed with what's on offer would be a massive understatement. Roll on 15 March!!
With 15 - 18 March in mind, a couple of years back i attempted (in vain) to get 'into' Irish jumps racing, hoping i would have an insight to the chances of the horses they'd be sending over for the festival. But i found that the jumps over the water is a tad like the English Premier League - just a few trainers who regularly clean up - Mullins, Elliott, De Bromhead, Harrington.
Willie Mullins has won the opener at Leopardstown in 7 of the last 10 years and saddles 3 runners today. Looking at those 7 winners, i see that it is not always the stable's first string that obliges, so what chance do we punters have ? He has 4 of the 8 runners in the 3.15, a race he has won 4 times in the last 10 years. Anyone got a lucky pin they no longer use?
2.05 Muss; Calipso Collonges @ 9/2 - 4 places
2.40 Muss; Specialist agenda @ 9/2 - 4 places
2.55 San; Beauport @ 6/1 - 7 places (Rev f/c with Orby's Legend)
3.30 San; Deise Aba @ 5/1 - 4 places
Win singles, 20p L15, £1.50 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £20, 4 winners = £1,833.
ITV7; those 4 above, plus; Panda Boy (£5 free bet win @ 8/1), Kemboy and Highland Hunter. £1 e.w. acca - which, if successful, would break the bank :-)))))))
But i'd swap any potential winnings for 3 points for The Clarets tonight! (by the way, 2-1 is 9s).
I'll leave the Rugby to you, Togo. I haven't a clue when it comes to betting on that particular sport.
Best of luck, all.

Me neither Ken ... but it is a bit of fun. All 50p punts on the Calcutta Cup. I know I named 3 players but Elioy Daly kept popping into my head so I did the points differences for England on him too. The two scoreline points spread in Englands favour are 11-15 points, and 16-20 points. All 4 players named as first try scorer in the scorecasts.
Isiekwe 360/1 & 550/1. Simmons 70/1 & 170/1. Curry 240/1 & 500/1.
Daly 120/1 & 290/1. 8 seperate punts at 50p each.

Hahaha, told you i haven't a clue with the Rugby, Togo. Decent enough profit from the nags so i thought i'd follow you in with the Ruggers @ 50p a pop. Wasn't concentrating enough though, and on two occasions i've done the Englishman to score first try, but Scotland to win by the margin stated. So, to rectify matters, it's cost me another quid :-)))
The way they list it is a mare in fairness Ken. I have done the same. I one thought had a winner and had put the wrong team with the margin. It was a Wales France game. Been winding "she who must be obeyed" up this afternoon. Told her that because Wales and Ireland had colours that make it impossible for the colour blind to make out, that Wales were going to play in pink with rainbow shorts and socks. "She go crrraaazy".
