Royal Ascot accounts for all races in today's ITV7. There are some quite large fields - unfortunately for me only a couple are handicaps:-(

With just the 6.10 to go (as far as my bets are concerned) i'm back on familiar territory. Zilch:-/
The Queen's hit the crossbar twice. Surely she'll win the last to send everyone home happy.
She must like this race, she named her house after it.
Question Author
She certainly won't be inviting Jane Chapple-Hyam to tea anytime soon:-)

She has 3 more runners tomorrow, trained by Stoute, Charlton and Bell - the Stoute trained is fav for the 3.40.
I don't follow horse racing that much, but even as a 'layman' I could see that Frankie gave Stradivarius a terrible ride. He reined the horse back in the opening stages, got boxed in and couldn't get out. I was shouting at the screen.

Also, in the opening race if The Ridler was not impeding other horses by veering way across the track suficiently to have been judged to be disqualified, I'd love to see what a horse would have to do to be chucked out. Steve Cauthen said in the USA The Ridler would have been disqualified.

Also, if The Ridler did nothing wrong (or at least nothing wrong enough ), then why did its jockey Paul Hanagan get a ten day ban?
Question Author
GG, in the UK, horses are usually only disqualified if the winning distance is a very short one. Had The Ridler won in a photo, it would have been disqualified and placed behind the impeded horse. As it turned out, it won by a length and three quarters and was always going to win the race. Cauthen is correct as in the USA they have different rules.
Paul Hanagan got a 10 day ban because he was not seen to be correcting the horse as it veered into the other's path. Dangerous riding, i think.
So the other jockeys have a horse 'being ridden dangerously' veering across them, clearly impeding them, (Crispy Cat particularly hard done by) but there is no sanction other than to ban the offending jockey from some races in the future ? Strange rules!
...it's like a footballer getting a red card but then allowed to stay on the field and told he'll be missing some future games!
Question Author
If the jockey is at fault, why punish the owners?
GG did the favourite. No wonder he looks so fed up in his picture.
Things have changed. Used to be a couple of amended results every day. I backed dozens of horses that got disqualified/demoted.
Can't remember once backing a second that got promoted.
I even had a big bet on that horse belonging to the Aga Khan in the 2000 Guineas( I think) It won easily but got disqualified (hours later) for 'crossing' in the first furlong.
I was sicker than the Aga and he vowed never to run a horse in this country again. I'm not sure but I think he stuck to his vow.
I often see his horses running in France and Ireland.

He stuck to his guns for about 4 years Spice. Aliysa was the Oaks winner that wasn't - 1989.
I got my story all mixed up again, lol. (you'll all get old one day)

The horse I was on about was Nureyev and the owner was Niarchos.
Question Author
On early today, been up a while because of the heat - Scorchio!

Just hope the following horses keep their cool and perform to the best of their undoubted abilities;

3.05 Asc; Perfect Power @ 4/1
4.10 Red; Time To Rumble @ 11/4
4.50 Red; Ey Up It's The Boss @ 9/4

£1 Trixie, £1 Treble for a poss £169.

3.40 Asc; Contact @ 7/1 - 6 places
4.20 Asc; Cachet @ 6/1 - 4 places
5.00 Asc; Fresh Hope @ 7/1 - 8 places
6.10 Asc; Korker @ 8/1 - 6 places

Win singles, 20p L15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £31, 4 winners = £4,870.

ITV7; above qualifiers plus Fully Wet (£2 win @ 14/1 BB) and Changingoftheguard, which i have left out of the £1 e.w. acca.

Also, as per, done the placepot.

Best of luck, all.

Had a bash at the ITV7 today.
Spent so long on the third race, my heart wasn't really in the other selections. (still no clue^)
2.30 Mawj
3.05 Go Bears Go
3.40 Gold Maze
4.20 Inspiral
5.00 Heredia
5.35 Ottoman Fleet
6.10 Shamlaan

If Sacred Bridge happens to win the 3.05 remortgage the house and shovel it on Ladies Church in the 6.10 before the price 11/2 collapses.
Hope you all have a good day.

Spice, Niarchos did vow never to run his horses in England again, but he was back a few years later with Miesque, a daughter of Nureyev, winning the 1,000 Guineas.
Nureyev would have run in the Derby but came down with a virus and never raced again.
On handy again, off out for lunch while the weather holds. Off to Anglesey tomorrow for a couple of nights so need to fuel up and get organised. Good job it is easy today after the week of hard choices.Need the win to pay for the petrol. Saw what you were saying about the Gold Cup and must agree, although Moore was as good as Dettori was bad. I reckon that he may have cost the Strad 2 wins in that race now. ITV7 on and **** E/W Acca, Win Trebles and Doubles. ⁕⁕E/W Double. Back mid afternoon again and can do a late cover bet if all goes as usual. Good Luck.

Meditate @9/2 2.30*
Ehraz @13/2 3.05*
Just Fine @13/2 3.40*
Inspiral @7/2 4.20*
Invigilate @16/1 5.00⁕
Lysander 5.35
Latin Lover @10/1 6.10⁕
No £200,000 for me ;-(
Can have a bet now.

Mine finished 2 from the back:-( 12 of last 13 winners of this race have come from double figure stalls. Today's 1-2-3- were drawn 4, 7 and 1, 4th place came from 14, then the next 3 all drawn single figure stalls. So much for the stats for that race.
Togo's flying again.
Just the 3 in the end ... although I did put my winnings from the Double on the last. Just about paid for what I put in the car to fill it up. Need the hotel money tomorrow now, so will be having a look at the runners tonight. Will be pushed for time tomorrow no doubt.
