Today's ITV 7 comes from just two meetings - Sandown (first leg 1.50) and Haydock. The Haydock meeting hosts the Old Newton Cup and, for regular customers, 365 have kindly provided a free £5 bet for this race.

Mark Johnston has won it 3 times in the last 10 years and all 3 were carrying low weights. He has two in this, both lowly weighted, and i am siding with his Enfranchise (e.w. @ 28/1) with my free fiver.

Thought just for a few seconds that Enfranchise was going to wear Get Shirty down. Ran a good race though, and drifted out to 40s for a £20 return for the free bet.
Immediately invested £2 of it in the 'mug's' forecast of the day - the two Venturas in the 3.28 Beverley. 1st and 2nd - paid £63.18:-))

A forecast is when you name two horses to fill 1st and 2nd places. Straight forecast - you have to name the winner and 2nd in correct order. Reverse forecast either of the two can win as long as the other finishes 2nd. Obviously, a reverse forecast costs twice your stake because you have two chances.
I always do the reverse forecast - it makes more sense.

I see. Next time I like two in the same race I'll give it a go, although today was a one off. I usually only go for the long odds - I expected Gassee to win today!
