The average height of the top ten men in the ATP rankings is 6ft 1.5 ins.
Of the ten only two are under 6 ft: Nickolay Davidenko is 5ft 10ins and Gilles Simon is 5ft 11ins. Three are 6ft 1in, three are 6ft 2ins, one is 6 ft 3ins and the tallest (Juan Martin Del Potro) is 6ft 6ins.
Height is a considerable advantage in tennis. The additional reach of longer limbed players has obvious advantages, and delivery from as high as possible makes the serve more effective.
