What is leptospirosis?

its also known as weil's disease, it is caused by coming into contact with urine

Specifically rat urine that is, normally contracted from infected ponds or rivers. Also as rats have a tendency to urinate as they walk along; when people pick up rats by the tail (as some people do!) they think they are hardly touching the scabby little beggar, unfortunately they are picking it up where it is most likely to be infectious!
