yesterday i received a beautiful bouquet of flowers. purchased from tesco " finest " range. excellent quality and extememely fresh. if you received flowers yesterday for mothers day, do you think they were value for money ?
I did too Anne I think they are grossly over priced when it comes to MD though, the same way as the Theme Parks have decide to up their price for the Easter Hols, supply and demand eh?
I bought some Tesco lillies for myself on Saturday. They were only a £5 bunch but I was still p1ssed off with them. When I got them home and was cutting the stems off, four of the actual flowers fell off when I picked the stem up. Those stems look a little bit naked now. I know I could probably have taken them back but that's a lot of hassle.
I ordered some from Asda to be delivered to the MIL and she rung to say they were beautiful. Cost me £25 including delivery, which I thought was quite good.
I brought and delivered flowers from my mums local florist (she lives miles away) and I made my step dad send me pictures. I was proper chuffed with the results and pleased that it was a small business that did it as I know interflora (I tried them first) were absolute cak when I was trying to order with them, not worth the money at all.
don't really understand your question anne
1) what do you mean give credit where credit due?
2) if people ahve recieved flowers as a gift, how do they know how much they cost, so how can they tell if they are value for money??
bednobs.......... the flowers were really nice and fresh, i know how much the flowers would have cost, ive often had flowers delivered and they have not even lasted a week. no big deal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not flowers but my daughter sent me 12 hand delivered chocolate cup cakes with malteser frosting. Don't know what they cost her but they are delicious.
My Mum got the best value. My brother sent her a basket of flowers delivered on sunday then today the same florist van came again with another big bouquet she explained they couldnt be for her as she had already received some from both of her children and her grandchildren but the driver said its the end of the day I am not taking them back! So free!!! Although her house does now look a bit like a funeral parlour.
she's old, she will never know. i'll just walk in and say " happy maws day, maw" and give her her card and present, change the subject quickly and she will be as happy as,, well,.. my maw getting a card and present............. sorted.............. yay for me
If my kids or my bloke bought me flowers for mother's day or any other 'event' then I wouldn't be at all pleased and they know it. Flowers are overpriced and have no place except growing in the ground where nature intended them to be, and where they happen to look their best.
They can doo cuddly toys, choccies or a bottle of something nice, but flowers ... never!
