Now I've heard of two different translation of the word 'Mardy' In the North East it means 'soft' but I've heard it used in the context of 'moody'

I thought mardy was a northern term for moody, I've never heard of it as a term for soft.

my FiL is from Durham and often uses the term 'mardy arse' for someone who is soft.
