I was hoping that a quiet lady would win it and Petra Kvitova has done just that.
However we haven't heard the last of the runner-up, Maria Shriekaballova.!!

Kvitova did brilliantly well, especially in her first Grand Slam final. I was so impressed with her play and conduct. It was totally refreshing to see a champion who did not immediately turn and salute her entourage in the players' box - that always annoys me somewhat, I find it rather rude to their opponent tbh. She looked very natural and understated. She will win more GS titles, I am sure. Shurrupanddousallaafavour was gracious in her defeat and I feel sorry for her that she did not play to her best level, but Kvitova had more than a bit to do with that.
I was very pleased for Kvitova who seems to be a nice young lady, but I was also pleased to see Sharapova playing again, considering the extremely bad shoulder injury she has battled to recover from. My favourite player, Clijsters, is out with injury so I was very happy that neither of the Williams' won.
Puts me right off when they grunt and screech after every shot these days.
I watched it 20 and 30 years ago with great players like Billy Jean King and Navratalova, Ann Jones. little Mo Connely They didn't screech.
God knows what its like being in a hotel room next to 'em when they're having sex.
