The Open Golf
i am enjoying watching this today. Those following the players must be the hardiest of all sport spectators. I reckon the American players in particular must wince at the thought of a soaked links course - no flowering rhododendrons, no blazing sun, no beautiful trees to shelter them from the (non-existent) wind etc.
Just watching Tom Watson enjoying his game and playing so well in the conditions - he is 62 in September and can show the young bloods a thing or two. A hole in one, too!
Peter Alliss is doing his 50th commentary on the competition - always a charming man, imo. As I see some of those putts pull up short, even on the first 2 days, I am reminded of Henry Longhurst - 'The ball that was never up, was never in'.
The Beeb has its work cut out in these conditions - but wouldn't miss it, even with all the rain on the lens.
Have no idea who is going to win - thanks to the weather, but we shall see.
These made me smile, especially Lee Trevino's ☺
