I don't expect huge response to this as I get the feeling many people on here have probably never heard of him but I'm sad.

James Toseland has announced his retirement from motorbike racing following a wrist injury sustained earlier this season.

The guy had such success at his first stint in Superikes but it seems since he tried and failed to impress in MotoGP his career has been marred ever since.

I'm sorry to see him leaving a sport he had such a talent for.

shame that is the second rider in a week to say he is leaving

Yep. Loris was in MotoGP for something like 25 years. He's had a good run at it but I do look forward to seeing some younger British talent coming up the ranks with the like of Redding and Smith in the Moto2 at the moment. They need to stay put for a while though.
Well, I know who he is. The year before last, a pal and I went to the Motorbike Show at the NEC ... and he was there, signing pictures.

We had our photo taken with him ... Tah Daaaah !! ... Yay.

He's VERY good looking!

(although, quite small ... my pal and I were both taller than him, LOL)

From a females perspective it does help that he is bloody gorgeous JJ. lol
Me too, a great guy who didn't quite get the right breaks at the right time. I hope he doesn't disappear from view altogether. I guess he'll still continue with his band, he's a good entertainer as well. Assuming he still lives in the IOM, maybe he should be a TT commentator....
Definitely, Evian.
(I also have a photo with him, he is cute, but short :-))

Yeah, it would be great if he can remain involved in some way. He's still young and could still give a lot to the sport.

I think I'm the only person not to have a photo with him. I do however have the image of him starkers on a bike imprinted on my brain. Yum.
!!
Maybe he'll become a pundit (one of those people who sit in the studio when sports things are on?).

That's sad to hear EB, but I'm very much hoping to see Bradly Smith rise to the top of the sport in the next few years.
Well, that's my new background wallpaper sorted !

Yeah, can't wait to see how he gets on D97. He was offered a ride in MotoGP next year but turned it down. The right decision for the time being I think.
LOL Evian:-)
