Have I labelled footballers as intellectual?
Of course they are:

"when the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea".
It's only a game. He shouldn't have taken it so hard.
"when the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea".

"When the press follow the ferry it is because they know that sooner or later an England rugby player will jump overboard".

I'm of the (perhaps wrong) opinion that rugby players are generally more intelligent than footballers. You certainly seem to get more sense out of the average ex-playing rugby pundut. And at uni I remember the real tearaways were the footballers. Rugby players seem to have a structure to their bad behaviour that doesn't make it any better I suppose, but does make it more interesting. (Golf buggies on the motorway, dwarves etc, etc!)
The interaction of serious amounts of money and adoration with a talented, but immature mind makes the international sportsmen we have to put up with these days.

No sign of that changing.
If you jumped off in just your pants, you could end up with a heck of a wedgie !!
Maybe it's a Samoan tradition?

Maybe if we didn't allow foreigners to play for our country?
