This idea has been banded about plenty of times. All it would produce is more (dangerous) over taking of slower cars and less experienced drivers in the first third/half of the race then things would even out and we'd be back to as before.
Possibly more exciting but not worth the added danger element imo.

d9f1c7 - When I post questions on here I sometimes get what I consider to be some crackpot replies which I ignore, and just take notice of the genuine replies, which I think you ought to do.
Fellow ABers on here make comments and ask all types of questions, both light-hearted and serious. I misjudged your question for which I apologised as I could see that you were very upset.
But I don't think there was any need to call those of us that didn't reply in the precise way you wanted, 'ar5seh0les'.
Perhaps you need to find a dedicated F1 blog site where you could place your question. By the way I'm a keen F1 follower myself.

"slowest first" is the way the grid lines up in small oval racing - but these are, in the main, contact sports, allowing the faster (more skilled?) drivers to hustle past - in cars built for rough & tumble type racing.
F1 is most definitely a non-contact formula. many F1 circuits have limited overtaking options. It either wouldn't work, or would be incredibly hazardous.

michael couldnt go as fast as massa let alone alonso in a ferrari
the problem with your suggestion d9 is that teams will start being half arsed in order to qualify last, it can be manipulated, at least with the current system people are trying their very best.
there is quite a mixed bag in the top ten on the grid, an improvement on 2011 :)
