Disgraceful incident with Neobandian kicking a line judge and injuring him, bllod pouring out of the poor man.

Instant disqualification.

Crowd don't like it and are booing.

Queens have handled it appallingly - no explanation from any official. I would have Neobandian apologise to the audience before the presentation ceremony so that could take its due place with the black cloud lifted.

He's now blaming the ATP rule book.....

He didn't kick the judge, he kicked the board around his feet which promptly flew into three pieces, one of which hit the line jdges shin.
Had the board been constructed more robustly and remained intact, would he have been disqualified?

Quite agree DT........he's one of the most experienced players on the tour and should have known better...........absolutely disgraceful the way he had a go at the ATP.

The crowd booed when the official tried to make an anouncement. What an @rse, he was wrong but blamed everyone but himself.

Without in any way condoning his hissy fit and agreeing entirely that he should not have kicked anything, I can't help feeling sympathy for him because had the boards been screwed together with a little reinforcement (ie properly) he would probably have received a warning and the match would still be going on.
He is therefore a victim of the Queens Club's shoddy workmanship.....IMO

factually true shoota, but you can't go round lashing out and causing the injury of an official. I agree with the comments about making amends immediately and he should have asked for a microphone asap and before the presentation to give his opponent the honour that he was due.

Queens/ATP were poor in not explaining that the incident merits immediate disqualification in the rule book, no exemptions for that sort of behaviour.

Hope the old guy is ok - that did look like a nasty gash/cut. The only thing that didn't make it an assault was that Nalbandian obviously targeted the board and the accident was secondary - however, what a plonker as he surely must have known that there wasn't much space between the board and the line judge and that the board would collide into the victim, whatever. If he didn't, he needs anger management as part of his fine/ban.
