Letter accompanying tickets for Olympic team GB football say:

" The football is different to the other events and so we strongly urge you to not bring any bag at all with you - otherwise this will seriously delay your entrance and you may miss your event. "

We have to get there 2 hours befoe games anyway, so what do they suggest we take our cameras, water bottles in??

Getting a bit stupid now, and why the football is different to the other games where you ARE allowed a bag is beyond me. Humph!

Yeh but I dont want to hold them all the blooming time. Then it says you are allowed to take your own food in as well - are you meant to eat it in the queue??
Well it's not that they're not allowed, just that it's not recommended to bring them. Probably because they'll all have to be searched and it'll take ages which will make people grumpy because they're waiting. I can see the logic to it in that sense.. Are other events allowing bags or is it the same recommendation?
lol at crafty, stop being so sensible :P

no, other events say you can take a bag in, as long as its a soft bag and not rigid. Dont see why the football is different.

btw Craft, I wasnt going to take just those two things lol.
If it's a small compact camera ... your pocket.
If it's an all singing all dancing SLR ... round your neck.

You would have to carry a bag the same as you would have to carry a bottle ... I can't see the problem.
I'm going to see the wrestling at the excel and here's the rules for that

Bring as little as possible with you: one small soft-sided bag is allowed per person – this must fit under your seat. There are no storage facilities available. You can bring food, provided it fits in your bag, and an empty plastic water bottle to fill up inside the venue. You cannot bring in liquids over 100ml. cam round you nest, water bottle down your cleavage, other items in other orifices
