Olympics - music whilst there's short delay

The practice by the organisers of playing some bit of pop music whenever there is even a short break in the play of any sport seems to have spread to almost every sporting event. Personally I think that the Olympics deserves more respect than having to satisfy every spectator who has the attention span of a gnat.

Anyone have a view on whether music should be blasted out from the PA at every opportunity?

Agree entirely - and most of the music selected is rubbish too
Even worse (and even more disrespectful) it seemed to me that they were playing music during the women's 10,000 metres last night - I know it lasts half an hour, but that was ridiculous.

absolutely right
I'm heartily sick of Chariots Of Fire, I used to like this music but it's driving me round the twist now.

It seems there were some complaints about the noise during the 10,000m last evening http://www.guardian.c...c-stadium-music-locog but there's unlikely to be any changes.
