Anyone got one nearby yet?

Drove past the one they did for Laura Trott earlier and there was a queue of people waiting to have their photo taken next to it.

Someone sent me a pic of the Farnworth one Mick - nice to meet a fellow Boltonian. :-)

Maj that is awful!!
Royal Mail said they would paint a box Gold for every Gold won by a person who lives in that area, so now they may have to do another box in Farnworth. They will not be getting rid of the red boxes
I think it is a smashing idea.
Nothing near me, but I still think it's great.
I worked at Royal Mail for forty years and I know the guy well who paints the boxes, thanks for that mamy dinner now we must have a owd natter some time.

I might paint the one in our village gold tonight

That'll get the locals bemused
Lol Elvis don't get any paint on your white jump suit
Who introduced pillar boxes in the UK?
Where was the 1st one?
No Googling.
We're still hoping for one near us! Fingers crossed for GB in the boxing.
I should know warton Anthony Trollop and Jersey ring a bell but not 100℅
And there was I assuming all post boxes would be sold off (much as the telephone booths are) now we have e-mail. Perhaps the lucky ones will bid for the gold variety.
