I've just looked at the results ...

Mince won (yay) ...

Then we had a 3rd place, and three 2nd places.

Do they pay out on an each way if there are six runners?

IF they do, then ...

I put £10 each way on each horse, except Havana Club, who is named after a rather jolly rum, so he got £20 each was, so ...

(scribble, scribble)

... I think (ignoring the pence) I'm £47 down on the wins, and £105 up on the places.

So if they pay out on the placed horses, then Stokey made me £58 !

:0)

Can anyone improve on my maths?
Hang on ... have I included the stakes back on the wins?

Oh god, I'm so crap at this.

Help, someone!!
Wait, I think I've got it ...

On a "lose" it counts as a minus, because the shop keeps your money.

On a "win" it counts nothing, because you give it to the betting shop, and they give it back, so you only have to calculate the winnings.

Yes?
