MM and KM Links Oct 2012 Week [2]

What a day it has been - just like summer! Torrential rain and wind causing local flooding and a house 16 miles away was half demolished by floodwater. I understand it is also chucking it down in Cardiff for the Wales-Scotland game. A commentator on TV suggested it would amount to child cruelty if anyone took their son to the game!
([i] You might very well describe the weather as 'Raining Cats & Dogs' and that is a phrase worth remembering at the end of the month when the latest 'Hot Pot Quiz' is launched - one hundred challenging cryptic clues to solve for just £1 - must be the bargain of the year - watch out for more details in a fortnight [i] .)
But don't let the weather put you off. You don't have to leave the safety of your own home to participate in the two 'Links Games' that take place in Q & P every Saturday morning.
First up will be the KM Game based on the GK crosswords in the Daily Telegraph posted by seekers from Australia. Play anytime before midnight on Sunday. Same points available whatever time you play.
The other version is the 'MM Links Game' set by one of the AnswerBank players. This month it is being set by 'Lady Jill' (aka tearinghair) who will post an introduction at 8:45 followed by the challenge words at 9am. In this version of the game, binus points are triggered the first time someone correctly guesses each link and remain available for the following two minutes. Best to play early to maximise your chances of points. Two points within the bonus window - one point thereafter.
The game closes at 7pm Sunday when the results will be posted.
Until tomorrow morning then,
Happy Linking

Back from a day in London (only to find that a sick cat had to be taken to the vet) and hoping that the MM launch goes well tomorrow morning. I had to switch the computer off mid-week, which my Home Hub definitely does not like, so the broadband connection is a bit erratic again - not as bad as a few weeks ago, so I have my fingers crossed.
Another Hotpot quiz in the pipeline, Gen2? Wonderful!

Gen2, I look forward to hearing from seekeerz tomorrow a.m. as I hear that Australia has been having a late winterly blast. I know S.E. Australia is a long way from the seekeerz kennels in Adelaide but over to the east they have had snow.
As to the Kingdom of Fife having flooding put it down to God's justice and blame it on your local MP!

Thank you for letting me know you are back tearinghair. I'll be standing by in the morning just in case.
Yes the new quiz is on the way. I just hope my old printer lasts long enough to print it off. The string holding it together is getting a bit frayed.
Strix, I heard there'd been snow in the Blue Mountains but don't know how widespread it is.
Can MPs control the weather? If so, it is about all they can do.
