How do the people get on who live in the streets that are closed for races, be it running, bikes or whatever. Some of the car races have the streets closed for 5 or more days.
I'd be pretty peeved off if I couldn't come and go as I please from my property, due to racing!
The legal ones janbee. Some of the F1 races are held on streets and bike or running races closes the streets for many hours. Those rally races take up heaps of streets and roads, how do the farmers get on who sometimes own the road but the public access over them.
I've experienced street closure for fun runs, cycling races, parades demonstrations/marches etc where I work. Its really frustrating and because its supported by the council they just grant the application every time. All in the name of either fun or freedom, just leaves us all feeling really grumpy. Its hard to get behind these things when they seem to take place in the same streets all the time.
The idea of organising sporting events that use the roads (which obviously have to be closed off) is ridiculous. There is no earthly reason why they cannot be held on enclosed circuits.
