I can well see it in Cricket, Golf or even Soccer judging by our present day players, but Rugby surely not?

have you watched Women's Football aog?

It is still a long way from the men's game - and maybe that's how it should be unless our physiologies morph into each other

cricket doesn't require a lot of burliness; sharp eyes, good wrists and timing are the main thing, except perhaps in slogging sixes. Sarah Taylor's probably only going to be in the B team anyway, though she may well be able to work her way up as she really is good.

Golf conceivably; though women don't hit as far they can be just as accurate.

Rugby no. But women's rugby as it is is highly entertaining.
is the newspaper headline supposed to say six?
women play rugby, it's unlikely there would ever be mixed matches
A whole hour and no one has mentioned swapping shirts at full time or sharing the bath.

btw that female Asst Ref in the Premiership (Sian Massey) is doing very well.
Sexist A.O.G. why not? excuse the pun, if the Women have got the @alls to play the game, the very best of luck to them, they might show the soft @rses in the football league a thing or two.
zeuhl, is there any reason to suppose she wouldn't.
no one will swap shirts, man boobs and female boobs don't necessarily match up...
she was the ref at the centre of that kerfuffle with Andy Gray, whatever happened to him?
exactly em

I think a lot of people 'assumed' she wouldn't do well
more women in sport, more in so called male dominated ones is fine by me, sure i read somewhere that there is a male team of netball players, if so good for them.
There never will be in sports where strength is a factor. Football/rugby etc never. cricket unlikely if they are picked on merit. There are some sports/games where strength is not a factor eg snooker/darts/bowls where no one can explain why women are not as good as the men. Games like cricket/golf are borderline and if a women was good enough they'd get selected. Motor sport has occasionally had women but at the top flight the levels of strength and fitness have usually been prohibitive. Horse racing has had a few lady jockeys but they never get very far. Tennis? the top worlds women would not live with a reasonable male club player. Let's face it women will never match men in most sports. Not sexist, fact!
em10, when I played for a football team we once played a local girls netball team in a charity match and the girls afterwards said that they where just amazed at how much running we did, even though we had never played before and cause far more whistle blowing than they did they stood no chance.
The most dangerous sport for a man is mixed hockey (and I've still got the scars to prove it !).Otherwise, cricket is certainly a possibility but even snooker requires considerable strength at the highest level and may be excluded.
On jockeys, the big problem is not the strength but the lack of rides; a problem faced by every apprentice, male or female; since it's evident that female riders can cope with the endurance of the Grand National. If a girl was any good and in ,say, Sir Michael Stoute's yard, she'd have a good chance of going on to success at the top level.
we used to go to point to point racing, all the riders were tough as old boots, you had to be, made the Grand National look like donkey rides at the seaside.
Womens versions of male sports are seriously sub-standard and, at times, laughable
good thing women play sports because watching the dingbats that play what passes for men's football one could be forgiven for thinking that they actually get paid for it.
Women's football is excellent. In many way I prefer it. As already stated some sports lend themselves better to being mixed than others. And there is a difference between official 'mixed' events and. for example situations where one or too women are admitted as in the case of the cricketer. It is very welcome development
