Huge Inflatable Paddling Pool

I've got one of those enourmous paddling pools so we can all enjoy the summer in the water. How do I keep the water clean? A friend said that a small amount of bleach added will keep the water clear for weeks but every week I have to empty it out and clean the gunk from the bottom. It's got an old camping ground sheet for a cover and to keep animals out, do I need something airtight to keep the water fresher? Also is there a chemical available, a bit like swimming pool chlorine, which can be used here, I don't have a filter or pump.
This was supposed to make my life more relaxing!!

Go to  a swimming pool shop they will advise you .Chlorine is available for Jacussis which is milder than swimming pool chlorine so should be ok for your pool.Good Luck
