Those pca figures really only relate to trainees and youngsters on the fringes of the first x1. Players you saw last night like Patel and Lumb will be on 6-figure salaries plus bonuses and sponsorship. A mate of mine at hampshire has seen his wages quadruple over the last few seasons ,now that he is established in the first x1, but of course there still is no comparison to footballers, golfers, tennis players etc.

The really big earners are those who gain a central contract with the ECB. they can expect combined salaries of around £500.000 plus huge sponsorship and media deals.

The top dogs, like KP, may be lucky enough to play in the IPL where the salaries can actually be more than footballer's, golfer's, tennis player's etc.
