At the Amex, we're not supposed to take alcohol into the seats.
So the accepted procedure, naturally, is to keep one of the Nescafé Gold coffee cups, and wash it. Then you can take it with you, buy the jolly little bottles of wine, and decant them into your Nescafé cup to drink during the match.
So I leave the flat for a very short time to go to the supermarket, and ...
Olive has thrown away my coffee cup.
:0(
I wonder if you can just buy cardboard Nescafé coffee cups?
JJ Can you buy those hard biscuit wafer type ice cream cones in Brighton ? My suggestion is to suck the ice cream from the cone then use it to put your drink into then finally eat the cone, problem solved. ( failing that, bite the little end off the cone then use it as a funnel to pour the drink straight into you delicate little gobbins, then eat the cone)
I would suggest, JJ, for that most heinous and flagrant act of mindless destruction of you personal property that your only logical course of action is to bin Olive.
// Wherefore from didst thou chance upon that which has now been Olivated? //
Why, from the ground on Saturday, of course. We were there for the game against Middlesbrough.
I have to say ... we were jolly impressed with the Boro turn out. Over 1,700 of them. It's a heck of a long way from Middlesbrough to Brighton.
All the Brighton supporters gave the Boro supporters a huge round of applause when the tannoy chap announced how many of them had come down from Middlesbrough.
He just announces who is being substituted, who has scored (not really applicable to Brighton this season, obviously), and how many people have turned up to the game.
We always give the visiting fans a round of applause, but especially so if they've come all the way from Middlesbrough.
JJ, slightly off topic. I have two books printed in 1969 and published by The Machinery Publishing Co. LTD, New England House, New England Street, Brighton, BN1 4HN. Are the building and the business still there? One of the books cost the grandiose sum of 5s.
Don't know stuey. A publishing company? That road runs into another road called Fleet Street. Coincidence, I wonder? I'll cycle up there some time this week and let you know.
