It's a fact of life that women's sport generally does not attract the level of support and sponsorship as the men do. This is usually because the entertainment value is that much less. Even in non-physical sports such as darts and snooker the ladies are streets behind the gents in performance. The biggest scandal of all though is in pro tennis, in particular at Wimbledon where there is complete parity. The women usually occupy the courts for less than one third of the total time whilst receiving half the prize money. In the 2013 finals Marion Bartoli dispatched Sabine Lisicki in 80 minutes whilst, even though winning in straight sets, it took Andy Murray 190 minutes to beat Novak Djokovic. Yet both winners received £1.6m. Scandalous!
