Starts tonight - I think I may become nocturnal for the next few weeks :

Will England's perennial under-achievers manage even to make it to the knockout stage? I hae me doots :)

Hard to look beyond the two hosts for the eventual winner - NZ are hard to beat at home (where they will play all their matches up to the semi-finals) and Australia look like they have a good (if injury prone) squad that will steam-roller most teams on hard, flat wickets.

It's a shame about the ridiculous format.
I just hope Ireland, despite their poor record in the warm-ups until Bangladesh, can maybe pinch a win against one of the more fancied teams.
It was nice to here Geoffrey savaging Eoin Morgan. He should have stayed with us :-)
England Are going to win each match by ten wickets or 150 runs. You heard it here first.
South Africa to win as long as they don't choke.
South Africa are the strongest on paper - best opener (Amla) best
One daybatsman ( AB de Villiers) & best bowler (Steyn).
They do however have a history of not turning up when it counts.

I agree with Dave that NZ are the form team & my overall pick but
I'll be watching Australia.

England - sorry won't qualify.
Pakistan Zindabaad.

Good performance from NZ - 331 should be enough.

If only someone could tell the winkers who are producing the coverage that it's the world cup of CRICKET - not a graphics design contest.

Hopelessly big and intrusive score and info blocks - hiding huge parts of the screen.
Think perhaps now everyone who was scathing about Geoffrey Boycott's comments should apologise.Eoin Morgan is certainly not good enough to be in the side let alone be captain. Also some of the shot selection of other players was bizarre. Finally a word of praise for James Taylor, a fine innings today and as I wrote in a previous correspondence a proven county captain who should have been given the job but he doesn't play for Middlesex,Surrey or Essex.
Well I was, at least, almost right about the 150 run part.

Morgan seems out of his depth against top sides (whilst flattering to deceive against lesser ones) both as a batsman and a captain.

His inept field placing and instructions to the bowlers cost a huge slew of late runs, which put the Australian's total beyond any possibility of a successful chase.
just thrashed all ends up by a better side

shambolic bowling strategy - Morgan really doesn't seem to be cutting it at all - and a great shame the doughty Taylor was probably robbed of a ton by that bizarre decision, but there you are

be nice to see the Kiwis break through
Yes completely agree Humbersloop.
