Steven Gerrard
firstly, gerrard has been an inspirational player.however, the england squad has been a big let-down and he was at the heart for a decade. i'm sure that the liverpool boot-room will miss him but i think that he has held the team back, with their over-reliance on him. it would not surprise me if liverpool thrive next season with wise acquisitions and the back-end of balotelli.

Gerard has, at times, carried Liverpool on his own, and he is hardly to blame for England's woes over the years. Nationally our expectations have been way above our ability - but that's down to pure arrogance on our part. Liverpool may well thrive, next season, but they would probably have done so this season with "wise acquisitions" and no Balotelli.
I really don't think he's any better than "above average" when it comes to top quality. Yes, he's had a few good games, but could never be regarded as World Class IMO. I can't see Liverpool 'thriving' either, until they get a top manager. Rodgers is lucky to still be in charge after blowing the title last season. Manager of the year? Joke!! On another point, do you realise how much silverware Liverpool would have over the past 15 years without penalty shoot-outs?
I've always rated stevie G. however when it does come to England performances he has failed to deliver... having said that so has the team.
When it comes to littlepool we are all aware of what a great player he has being for them, and I offer respect (I'm Man United) but slowing the team down... I think not, he has become this season a holding midfielder. It's the young ones that have let littlpool down. IMO.

ken, you are right, i thought that burnley showed a lot of guts and deserved much better than they got. i am still jealous, burnley played with great spirit your manager is a proper manager and a genuine good guy. i, in the event of a miracle that we stay up, hope to see you back soon in the EPL, good luck next season, all the best mike
