an acquaintance was taken rabbit shooting with a friend some years ago, he'd never fired a shotgun in his life. when the acquaintance lined up the shot, he was told to fire - which he did, both barrels at once. an enormous flame emitted from the gun, the recoil forced him back several feet, but his flat hat stayed where it was, then gently fluttered to the ground.
