Can he beat the mighty Djokovic? The last British man to win the French Open was Fred Perry in 1935. Come on, Andy! Who else of the ABers will be watching? No no-ers, please. If you don't like tennis or AM, please don't bother with this thread.
I don't believe that "deliberately becoming your own worst enemy" is a particularly Scottish trait, but Murray does often display the characteristic outlined in quote-marks above.
He needs to learn to take the rough with the smooth, the good breaks with the bad ones and - for a start - stop abusing his racquet or looking accusingly at court-side 'furniture' such as cameras!
I really want him to win so I've cut the grass and not looked, I'm known as the kiss of death in any sporting event, when he won Wimbledon it was 7pm before I looked. I once watch Henman at 2 sets up and 3-0 up in the third, he went on to lose 2-3. Apparently, I am totally to blame for Bolton W's demise as I have a silly habit of checking the scores about 4.45!
Sorry, Clover. Ive been watching the Open with anticipation. With respect the build up tried to inject some exitement but you know when the chips are down Andy is no match for Novak. The difference was excrutiating. Andy needs Lendl to give him a kick up the backside. Perhaps he should not have the family with him. Being a father has made him soft.
