i only posted this, because it was being played at a charity do attended by prince harry.
what do you reckon abers?
Used to play it quite a lot whilst waiting to go in to bat in the real game. We'd play it with a proper cricket ball which made protecting the stumps (your shins) very important!
France are playing Pakistan next week.....could be explosive, definitely intriguing.
I played that as a child, with my sister and friends. 'Proper' cricket was for when Dad was around to bowl and hammer the stumps into the ground.

As a matter of interest, cricket is growing in France, especially in the Loire valley and not far from us ( a bit below the Loire) there was a club which enticed several French to play and this had enough spin-offs to generate a small league. Similarly (different subj., sorry) a few Anglo-French Brass bands formed.
You are quite right, it isn't a bit odd.
