John Inverdale
Well done Sir Steve Redgrave for rebuking this odious little man the other day.The quicker BBC get rid of him the better.I still remember him at the rowing in 2012 trying to speak to an exhausted rower who came second and saying something like " I know you've come in second and are exhasted but we have to talk".

It was - it was to the effect that "... since she was never going to be a looker ... " she should concentrate on being a tennis player!
Nice!

I think he said - and I hate quoting this - " do you think her father said to her when she was growing up 'you're never going to be a looker, so you'll have to scrap and fight for every point' "
Apart from being extremely rude, can you imagine any father saying that to his daughter? And anyway you don't get points for looks on the court. So what he said was rude and ridiculous. He's got a face like the proverbial smacked A anyway. Did you see her at the champions ball when she won Wimbledon? She looked stunning.

I was a crass and stupid remark, and as a father of three daughters, I have never done anything less than affirm them as individuals of worth and value - that is part of my role. Any dad who would approach his daughter as Inverdale suggests would be well down the road to deservedly losing her respect.
I doubt he would ever be so hurtful and offensive to either of his daughters.
