In the omnium. Whilst gold would have been the icing on the cake he came second to a deserving winner (and nice guy to boot) in Vivian.
Cav being Cav he won't be overly chuffed coming second, he's always been a win-or-nothing type, that's his character but he's had an amazing season so far so must take the positives from it.

I've seen arguments on FB about the crash that ended in the poor guy being stretchered off, and whether Cav was at fault. I think he just thought he'd be able to get in front of him in time, but misjudged.

Crashes in track and road cycling are part and parcel, riders see them as an occupational hazard. Cav apologised, obviously deemed accidental by the judges, VivianI got up and carried on, he's professional enough to take it in his stride.
The guy who wasn't able to get up and retutn riding would undoubtedly had the same view i.e. that's cycling, $h¡t happens.
