I've got mild asthma but it isn't in my autobiography either. It hasn't been caused by excess exercise either; but as ichkeria says, that can be a cause. And like most people, I take such medications as are necessary to allow me to do my work. I can't see why Wiggins should be different.
I think he very well considering he was on drugs, when I was on drugs I couldn't even find my bike!
was it down the back of the sofa, Ratter?
The drug is on the banned list for a reason.
Wiggins had three injections.
Each one just before a Grand Tour.
It stinks to high heaven!
Wiggins and Team Sky should hang their heads in shame.
why wouldn't asthma be more of a problem before a big race?
Nowhere in interviews or in his biography has he ever mentioned having asthma.
He now admits to taking the drug before three Grand Tours, because he was found out.
Why did he not need it before Paris-Nice, for instance?
That drug was taken to enhance his performance.
That is why it is on the banned list.
It is interesting that a lot of the criticism of Wiggins has come from ex drug cheats like Millar and Jaksche (not to mention his arch enemy who can't stand him Froome)

It may be that TUEs are open to abuse, in fact I would have thought that was self-evident, but triamcinolone is a recognised drug for asthma, and is, under the current rules, subject to a TUE. All you can ask of sports people is that they do not break the rules. Maybe the rules need changing, but until they do ...
Pete is spot on......never liked Wiggins that much, as comes across as a prize egotistical tw0nk :-)
But until they do...Wiggins wants watching!
The TUE system is patently open to abuse.
A compliant doctor and you are half way there.
Team Sky when they started out said they would never use a TUE, but would withdraw the rider from the race. And how has that worked out?
Hopefully, Pete, he'll be closely scrutinised so much he'll be able to feel the breath on the back of his neck, when giving a wee sample.

On seeing some of the brilliant Paralympics recently, those are the true champions of UK sport, in my opinion, and made you proud to be from the British Isles.
I agree, Yogi.
A breath of fresh air, they were.
I have long been a fan of Dame Sarah Storey, too!
Don't know much about subject but anyone who can balance on a bike at speed deserves a knighthood ,have you seen the width of them thar wheels
Truly uplifting, Pete.....like her too.

Welled up at Ali Jawad in the Powerlifting, as he equalled his weight won at 2014 Dubai World Games of 59kg, secure silver......just amazing - his strength.....inspires you doesn't it?
and what about doing it on one wheel, weecalf

Lol, he'll probably claim to be asthmatic and needs injections for it.
...or you could try this wheelie...

Wiggins - I can't see Wiggins without lumping froome into the same bucket, they both took large doses of steroids to win World Tour races, any nonsense about leveling playing fields is just that nonsense. Cycling and other sports need to long look at the TUE system if an athlete is so unwellthat he needs massive doses of steroids to compete he shouldn't be there.

One of the biggest side-effects beyond asthma with Triamcinolone Acetonide is weight loss, shedding that extra kilo or two over the last few days before the tour and the first few days of the tour can be critical to win the race. This is unethincal, cheating plain and simple, however the system lets it happen. WADA must review the TUE and soon.
no evidence froome has taken anything slapper.
Chris Froome has had two TUE's.
In May 2013, and April 2014.
Both for corticosteroid prednisolone for chest infections.
Team Sky talk the talk, but don't walk the walk.
They said they would not apply for TUE's, but rather withdraw riders who needed medication.
They have applied for 17 and got them.
What does Brailsford say to that?
Have the UCI not also given permission for these TUEs?
Yes, they have, Tora.
Froome had them before the Tours of Romandie.
He was very open about them in the past.
He has spoken of them several times, before.
We knew about them before Fancy Bears hacked the files.
The UCI is not fit for purpose, and has not been for many years.
They know the TUE system is being abused and banned drugs are being used all over the place, "legally".
