I might have got this wrong, but I thought the Russians had been banned from the Olympics anyway ?

I agree jo.

ael I couldn't do it now. Mind, I'm not going to try!
^ I was about to ask the same question. What sort of drug was it?
The Bowl teams will be on 'speed' next.
As an afterthought, what is the situation in equestrian events?
Does the horse get a drugs test as well as the rider?

Apparently Meldonium increases blood flow.
Horses do get tested Eddie :)
I knew they'd increased the number of events in the Winter Olympics over the years, reflecting the invention of snowboards and the aerial events but I didn't realise they'd started having horses on skis.
bhg, horses wouldn't fit into the ski-lift to get them to the top :-D
I didn't think of that alba.
here you go alba ...

Nice one, aelmpvw
LOL thanks ael !!
Brilliant and I loved the tune - quite catchy :-D

(wasn't you and Doris in the horse was it?)

Thanks guys....I wasn't aware of that. I always thought that any competitor at any Olympics had to be part of his or hers national Team.

Forgotten about the refugee Olympians already?
The 'Olympic Athletes from Russia' are the Russian team in all but name.
Banning Russia was a meaningless gesture as has now been proved. Even after the national team was banned the 'Olympic Athletes' are still drug users, will they EVER learn?
Possibly this will lead to a total ban on Russia competing in international sport?

Eddie...it doesn't look as if the Russians can be trusted anymore.
I predict an alternative Olympics with Russia and eastern bloc countries...no holds barred..chemicals an' all !
To compete internationally for Russia the sportsmen/women MUST agree to commit themselves to doing whatever the teams official doctors tell them to do. The food they eat,the medications they are prescribed are all 'what the Doctor ordered' .They do not get a choice in the matter. So it is the State rather than individuals who is to blame.
What I hadn't realised was that at the Closing Ceremony they were going to be aloud to parade as Russia, with the flag.
Providing there were no "untoward" incidents. It remains to be seen whether this will be enough to prevent that.
As "bans" go it's hardly the most draconian. Given they ruined the last Winter Olympics completely.
When I read this question I though the hair dressers were in trouble . Still on a high after getting a draw at Rochdale lol .
