He seems to get penalties for everything yet has been champion 4 times, is there anywhere that can tell you what penalties he has accrued over his career either Grid Pens or during the race, does he get more than most because he seems to get punished more than most drivers.

It’s a sign of him constantly pushing the envelope. He’s not been the most popular of drivers with officials at times.
Perhaps it just seems that way?

I don't know that he gets penalised more than others for subjective things

However things like gear box penalties are unfortunately just one of the stupid rules in F1

It robs the fans of the best/fastest drivers battling against each driver

It's supposed to be to keep costs down - however as Coulthard says the teams just spend the money in other ways

If there are any engine/ mechanical problems , let the teams fix it without penalising the driver's

Sorry I don't know the stats the grid penalties
Geevo’s link shows he’s one of the lowest.

I should have made clear i meant position and time penalties rather than point penalties
If Lewis gets 'punished' more than most drivers on grid penalties it's because he breaks his car more often. I think, considering the length of his career, luck can be ruled out so what could be the reason? Perhaps he pushes the limits of the car more than others in an effort to excel?
