He didn’t apply an existing law. That is being rather economical with the truth. The scenes we witnessed were due to a directive in April which advocated ‘zero tolerance’ so while no laws were changed he effectively applied a new policy. It is certainly true that the law was applied under previous presidents. That is not at issue. Anyway, to his rather small credit he’s recanted, which was the right thing to do.

of course the cover was mocked up to illustrate how nasty trump was being, but the story inside claimed the child was forcefully removed from her mother it was not, hence the apology from Time. This is a typical fake news item by the left, for who trump can do no right. The border policy was inherited from Obama who no doubt inherited it himself.
