Liverpool Sign Shaqiri - Great Signing.

I only noticed it this week. I think Shaqiri was one of the best players in PL last season but he was with the wrong club, with all respect to Stoke. I think it's a great signing for Liverpool. He's a quick and skilful player and should be a good foil for Salah.

I agree. Klopp is spending some serious money and seems to be strengthening in the right places.

I'm not a Liverpool fan, btw. I'm United! But I think Liverpool tended to switch off at times last season. If they can sort that out, they could mount a serious challenge to City this time. Utd won't win the Prem. They're too ponderous at times. Need to be more direct. I think Shaqiri and Salah will give Liverpool a more direct threat. The SAS!

As long as they can keep him off the pies and not let him and Salah have "issues" they will get their moneys worth.

United have made some good purchases (Fred particularly) and if Pogba and Lukaku play like we saw they can in the world cup, then if Sanchez plays to his potential they could come close. They are still weak in defence though - it's only De Gea and the 'parking the bus'/bore the opposition tactics that give them such a good defensive record most years

Last season, I felt too many teams gave too much respect to City. I think City are quite vulnerable in the first 20 minutes. I used to think that when Pep was at Barcelona, but very few teams would attack them early. I don't think Liverpool will take that approach.

The league may be more open this year. I think the top teams from last year will suffere from players returning late from the world cup. Some players will miss the first few games and some may find it hard to raise themselves after their efforts in Russia
