I know of a lady who has conned council to give her a council house due to domestic violence from her partner. She is violent herself, but somehow social services are supporting her. She has recieved a house, but only furnished it and moved a few of her and her kids things in there. She stays there once or twice a week, and the rest of the time she is with her partner in their marital home, which she has told social workers and council she has left due to violence from her partner. She is now claiming single parent benefits. at the new address. She is not a single parent. She has never worked in her life, and has been in the uk 15 years. I am disappointed in the system, as there are no checks, and as soon as someone pleads domestic violence, they jump on it without making sure it is real. She has told a group of us that she will buy the house in a few years and gets best of both worlds. I think shes conning the system. Would you report her? An if so who to? thanks.

We have a couple the same in the town near to where we live. Man left wife with 4 kids he got house big enough to keep kids on and off. Wife stays at his and he stays at hers. Houses are almost opposite each other.Neighbours say comical to watch. Both claim as single parents. Two houses being paid for and only one family. Genuine people desperate for a house.

I don't know why these people aren't being investigated. Some years ago I was sharing a flat with a man, and we had an inspector of some council department looking round the place for evidence that we were a couple. We also had to go to a tribunal.

signed or unsigned letter to the housing benefit dept of whoever is paying the rent

hey did I ever say - one of my neighbours had to fight a fraud allegation that she was living off the proceeds of a drug dealer = the live in boyfriend ....
and we concluded from internal data that the informer was her

another had five allegations in a year .... from the woman who lived opposite !
