Bazille; I am not 'addicted' to having a bet. I don't smoke, go out for meals, visit the cinema or drive a car. I very rarely drink. I walk almost everywhere. And my tv is rarely switched on before 9pm. So, after household bills, food and groceries, etc, what money i have left is mine to do with as i please. I have never staked more than i can easily afford to lose and i never chase my losses. I do win occasionally and, even less occasionally, i win big. Biggest win so far being £2,064 for a £1 staked Placepot. Biggest loss so far on a single bet was £50. I am not a serious gambler and my 3 daughters and my son do not have the number of 'Gamblers Anonymous' at hand, just in case. Thanks for your concern, though. :-)
Arky; I don't do too bad on the whole. The bets i put up on Togo's 'Saturday Punt' thread are more often than not compiled from the toughest 4 races of the day, as Togo would no doubt confirm. I'm no mug - i knows the rules. I give money to the bookies and, nice chaps that they are, they LEND me some of it back from time to time. Just so that i can keep following my hobby. How decent is that of them :-)
