I agree he certainly was a brilliant jockey. The Ruby & Willie Show is over along with any other trainers that he rode for. You could always tell where he was in a race with his distinctive race riding style.
Always found it terribly difficult to decide between McCoy and Walsh just who was best. Never came to a conclusion which, in the end, is proper. Both possessed a steely determination to get their mounts to give of their best and both were responsible for some mercurial rides. Like AP, Ruby will be sorely missed. I'm just thankful to have been around to see them both in their pomp. Happy retirement, Ruby.
I like him, both as a jockey and a human being.
Hope he has a long and happy retirement.
Entertaining jockey, never more so than when being interviewed immediately after winning - never did understand a word he said!
