O Flower of Scotland,
When will we see
Your like again,
That fought and died for,
Your wee bit of Yokohoma, Japan,
And you stood against them,
Proud Samurai-san,
They sent you homeward,
To think again.
The Hills are bare now,
And Typhoon waters
lie deep and still,
O'er land that’s flooded and lost now,
Which those so dearly held,
That stood against you
Proud Samurai-san,
They sent you homeward,
To think again.
Those days are past now,
And in the past
The World Cup’s gone,
But we can still rise now,
And beat Japan again,
That stood against you,
Proud Samurai-san,
They sent you homeward,
To think again.
A wonderful match. I'm so sorry we lost. I've been supporting Scotland in R.U. for many years and for the most part it has been a very thankless task. So proud of them in the last few years.
Japan had a country's spirit to lift after the typhoon and they did that. Still so sorry for Scotland. What a match!
excellent match and i for one thought the Japanese team played with verve, courage and much else. Sorry for Scotland but they played well but not well enough in the first 40 minutes.
There is only one World Cup for Scotland, Ireland and Wales and that is the annual Six Nations match against England. It's what Fergie called "cheating the manager" and brought the famous, funny rant from Kevin Keegan. They only put the REAL effort in when they play the English, so don't be surpised if any of them go no further in this competition.
