"She who must be obeyed "came out from behind the sofa and watched once they had a good lead. Drives me nuts she does. Watches all the plelims and the anthems.......then as soon as they kick off she switches it off. I have my sport up and running in the kitchen and desktop so it is up to her what is on in the lounge. If they lose she even deletes the coverage and doesn't watch. She will now watch the game 2 or 3 times over the weekend. Haha she is a darling mind. The under 20s got a walloping from Italy last night just down the road from us.(I mean within walking distance) My must watch game is on tomorrow in Paris......it is going to be a bit "atmospheric" I think.
I'm a bit like her Togo :-) The anthems were brilliant today. I'm always reminded of Billy Connolly when I here the Italian one, when he decided the God Save the Queen was a bit of a dirge and we should have one more like the emergent nations and marched up and down the stage singing " we come from Moldova and we don't give a ***. I shall vacate the lounge tomorrow as it will be extremely noisy with OH and son shouting directions at England - hope they win though
Again Margo similarities.......when the Italian anthem was playing I said it sounded like they were going to invade Abyssinia again and was admonished ........with a big smile. Haha.

Best delicacy I used to eat in Wales was Laver bread. Can only get it tinned on- line here in London .They used to sell it in Selfridges Food Hall. :-(
Pontycymer must have been a tough little town. Mining was the main source of employment and those hard jobs bred realistic people. You would get on Margo, but I confess that I have never met anyone who doesn't get on with her. Not a fan of Laver bread but love my Bara Bryth(have you seen the price of it lately) and Penderyn Whisky. The Llyn Peninsular is where we like to wander Margo, like a mini Cornwall, and the Island.
Thank you Togo for the little correction. I always have to make stacks of Welsh cakes whenever the family come here or I go to see them. I bought a bakestone many. many moons ago and it's still going well. Love laver bread. so tasty.
It was pretty dire Togo. We took her back there, must be about 35 years ago, her father was the leading tenor soloist with the Royal Welsh Male Voice Choir, so quite famous in his day, he also owned the general store. I couldn't believe how many people remembered them, she was so chuffed. I've not been to the Llyn Peninsular. I'll have a google
Shh just for us....The place that you may visit Margo is part of my family name. I was born in Stoke, but have lived here for 52 years. Came to visit a pal for the day who was living in Rhyl(even hitch hiked) and never went back.
Matches against Italy these days seem mostly flat. They just don't measure up to the other sides.
Well played Wales but if Italy don't win at all for a fourth year in the row why are they still in the competition? Georgia, Spain, Romania all knocking at the door to take their place.
