Agree - a stunning performance already and surely she's going to be in the top 50 very quickly.
Romanian father, Chinese mother, born in Canada. How British can you get!
Just like Roddick as to the Canadian-ness....
you'll be telling us that Boris Johnson is a yank next :-)

Nice one Emma, I knew you could do it.
I guess living in the UK since the age of two is a pretty good way to be British.

I've been in absolute awe at her run. And the way she plays, too! A couple of slow starts in her last matches, but doesn't get fazed at all, finds her range, and then just methodically dismantles the other player. Superb defence, great serving on the key points, controlled aggression, and just a wonderful temperament. It's scary how good she has been, and how much better she can be yet.
Nature nurture ...
Stop being a spoilsport, she has a British passport, so she's British, regardless of her parentage.

I'd love her to keep winning, but I think it might be a smidge too soon for her. It's great to see someone so happy with their success. That smile of hers is heartwarming.

And another win under her belt. Great performance Emma, keep it up. We're all still rooting for you.
yes we are rooting for you, go girl....
Enjoyed every minute of Emma's ridiculous run, and she has been dominant.

But I have to say I genuinely don't care who wins the final now, both finalists have been amazing and all I want is to see them play at the same level they've been at throughout.

Also, Leylah Fernandez's story is remarkable herself: check out this video from a few years ago, while she was still fighting to establish herself on the tour. Mostly in French but should be subtitled:

// Romanian father, Chinese mother, born in Canada. How British can you get!//

well Barack ( Obama silly!) was born in kenya wivva Oirish mum and Malian father - according to Mr Trump !

Nice accent and can play tennis - so that is OK by me.

o says the dormouse sleepily , does the president play tennis?
> Mostly in French but should be subtitled

The subtitles are in French. To see them in English, click the Cog icon ("Settings" - start the video playing if you can't see the Cog icon) and under "Subtitles" select "Auto-translate".

. . . . . . . . and she's done it.

Mighty CONGRATULATIONS Emma.
Is Martina Navratilova American?
is Andy Murray British?
Martina Navratilova was born in Prague and later went to live in America. She has dual citizenship--Czech/American.
After Ranucanu lost the first couple of match-points, I had visions of her losing the set and then getting thumped in the third but she did well.
She did well?

She did ferkkin fantastic!
Brilliant :)
