What's the maximum these days! I ask because I noticed that in last night's game in Milan, they were allowed to make 5!! Surely it's the same all across Europe?

FOotball ?Different rules for different comps.

Cheers ken, somehow think most clubs in UK haven't got 5 subs to call upon. Well maybe the bigger clubs have.
Weren’t there 6 talked of in a recent game?
Depends on the competition as someone said.
An extra sub is allowed in the case of extra time being played in cup matches.
From the article //The Premier League has been the only top-flight European competition not to implement the rule so far,//, this explains why I only seen max of 3 in the Premier
Bobbinwales, the 5 sub-rule was introduced to help get through the worst of the Covid pandemic. Some of the larger clubs wanted to make the rule a permanent thing but were (rightly imho) voted down by the smaller clubs in the PL.
I substitute rugby for football, better for my digestion.

In the Premier League it's 3, but if a player is assessed as having concussion then both teams are allowed an additional sub (for each concussion incident)
