No they're not, TTT. Any 16 runner handicap is paid a quarter the odds for 1-2-3-4. 5th of the odds is paid when the bookies are offering extra places and odds shortened - as most were doing for yesterday's race. And, yes i know the example below is from last year's GN, but it applies to all 16 runner handicaps.

I tend to agree Shirley, same at Cheltenham. I'm surprised there isn't more of an outcry in this day and age. I see it's too big a business to stop but at least make owners follow a veterinary recovery route rather than putting them down.

Were it not for the sport, these beautiful animals would not have been born in the first instance. 'Racehorses' are bred to 'race'. The clue is in the name. And if the 3 of you felt so strongly about it, surely one of you would have shown a smidgeon of initiative and opened a thread on the subject?
