I work at a restarant and commute to and from work. The thing is that my commute is all up hill on the way to work but down hill home. I am not sure how I should dress in order to best suit the weather as it could be anywhere from 20C to 0C for my riding and I ride home in the dark. For work I can wear shorts or pants as long as they are black and not legings along with a basic black shirt or top. If I must I am willing to bring a change of clothing.

How far is your commute?

My commute is 3.8 km with elevation increase of 74m and decrease of 14m. If I was going home elevation would’ve be opposite
i would always have a change of clothes for work, when i cycled.
It's not that far that you're going to work up a good sweat (if you take it gently!) but it might rain. I would wear a breathable but waterproof jacket & take an extra pair of trousers to change into if needed.

Of course a helmet (& lights for night-time) are a must.
