First screened in 1989 , to be honest I thought it was much earlier than that , the boy's name is Carl Rice who is still acting today and has been on many tv programmes

Brian, the other guy's name was Kevin Staine. The 'dig' was meant to be against Spurs, but objections were raised, and they chose Accy instead. Accy Stanley, then a non-league club, reportedly made £10K from the advert.
